Accompanied by KAJI, the family pet, PETER and his WIFE are having dinner.
WIFE: Just the two of us.
PETER: Yes. Any news from our younger daughter?
WIFE: She's just had a nice dinner with her friends in Tokyo.
PETER: We're empty nesters again until her return next week.
WIFE: You'll go to the Airport to drive her home, right?
PETER: Yes...when we embark our late March trip to Japan, only she would be at home.
WIFE (Looking at Kaji): She'll have to stay home as no one will take her anywhere.
PETER (V.O.): Staying home may not be bad.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
EXT. HIGHWAY FROM AIRPORT - 07:30
Driving a Previa, Peter sees the rising sun.
PETER (V.O.): I've just dropped off my younger daughter at the Airport.
We hear from the car radio the instrumental music: "Baby Elephant Walk".
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Traffic at the Airport is congested. Lots of people are flying out.
EXT. ROADS TO CENTRAL - 09:15
Peter's wife is driving a New Beetle. Peter sits in the passenger seat.
WIFE: Going back to chambers?
PETER: No, I'm going to swim at Kowloon Park.
WIFE: Why are you taking my lift?
PETER: To keep you company. I'll take the Star Ferry from Central to Kowloon.
EXT. STAR FERRY - 10:00
Sitting at the upper deck front, Peter observes the TOURISTS capturing photos of the panorama view of the Victoria Harbour .
PETER (V.O.): For most tourists, taking the iconic Star Ferry ride is a must do. As a Hongkonger, I'm never tired of taking it.
EXT. TSIM SHA TSUI - 10:15
We see CUSTOMERS queueing to enter luxury brand stores.
PETER (V.O): The brands get most of the revenue from these stores.
EXT. SWIMMING POOL, KOWLOON PARK - 10:30
Seeing the blocked entrance, Peter reads a notice: Weekly cleaning begins at 10.am today.
PETER (V.O.): Okay, let me re-visit the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre.
INT. HONG KONG HERITAGE DISCOVERY CENTRE, KOWLOON PARK - 10:45
Having re-watched "Light of Jinsha - the Ancient Shu Civilisation" on G/F, Peter looks up.
PETER (V.O.): What's exhibiting on 1/F?
As Peter takes the escalator to check it out, we see a red-and-white sign: Explore Our Heritage.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I specialized in IP. I don't know much about that.
Peter begins his discovery tour about Hong Kong from modern times back to the prehistoric period.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've witnessed how Hong Kong changed from 1950s to the present.
In a screening room, Peter watches a video clip.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, the Discovery Centre was actually an old barrack built in the late 1890s.
In an exhibiting room, Peter sees a floor of broken blue-and-white Ming porcelain.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): OMG! All found in Hong Kong! The light-up presentation is particularly aesthetic!
In an exhibition room with drawers, Peter opens a couple and sees sharp stone tools.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's only now that I know these stone age tools were also found in Hong Kong!
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I won't see such physical remains exhibited anywhere except in Hong Kong.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The sun at home warms just as good as the sun elsewhere.
RETURN TO PRESENT
Act 3
INT. DINING ROOM - CONTINUOUS
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's interesting to know that some historic artifacts were unearthed in the area of my NT home.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Months ago, I saw the pre-historic rock carvings in Big Wave Bay. Should I revisit the one in Cheung Chau?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Anyway, I now have a better understanding of where I come from and what makes a human race.
