Swimming Through Retirement

  3. INT. STUDY - 08:45


  4. Having put papers, a banana and an adaptor into a bag, PETER grabs his beach mat.


  5. PETER (V.O.): Today, I plan to complete five tasks.When I was with the Govt, I did much more.


  6. Pausing.


  7. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Now, I balance work with life, I embrace leisure and enjoyment.


  8. Pausing.


  9. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): More importantly, I wish to stay healthy and continue to deliver value.


  10. Pausing.


  11. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): And I still have to organize and prioritize.


  12. Act 2


  13. INT. CHAMBERS, ADMIRALTY - 10:15


  14. Arriving, a SCRETARY greets Peter.


  15. PETER (V.O.): I need to check a brief that has come in. I'll ensure the work won't clash with my voluntary work and monthly travel.


  16. INT. NURSING ROOM, FAMILIIES CLINIC - 10:45


  17. Having passed papers to NURSE#1, Peter sits in the waiting area. When NURSE#2 calls his chit number, Peter goes to her.


  18. PETER (V.O.): I've begun fasting since midnight. I want to get it done today or I can't travel next week.


  19. We see Nurse#1 getting alcohol swabs, a need, collection tubes labelled with Peter's names and an adhesive bandage.


  20. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): For any task, there's a lot of preparation.


  21. We see Nurse#2 selecting an appropriate vein in Peter's inner elbow area and disinfecting the skin over it with an alcohol swab.


  22. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I still can't bear to see the needle inserting into my vein...


  23. NURSE#1: The blood collection is done!


  24. We see Nurse#2 using a sterile cotton ball to promote blood clotting.


  25. NURSE#1: You put on the bandage after 15 minutes.


  26. PETER (V.O.): Yes, I'll go swimming.


  27. EXT. BUS STOP TO STANLEY - 11:30


  28. Waiting. Peter takes out the banana in his bag and eats it.


  29. PETER (V.O.): I need it to energize me.


  30. EXT. ROADS TO STANLEY - 11:45


  31. Sitting in a route 14 bus, Peter and many PASSENGERS eye at the scenic Turtle Cove on the left hand side of the bus.


  32. Recalling.


  33. PETER (V.O.): I meant to alight here and swim there, although there isn't any lifeguard service.


  34. Pausing.


  35. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd):This morning, I read that a 67-year woman was drown there not too long ago.

  36. Later, the bus stops at Stanley, passengers get off while Peter is still in thoughts.


  37. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, I've forgotten to get off. Let me swim in St. Stephen's Bay then.


  38. MONTAGE OF PETER'S SWIMMING AT ST. STEPHEN'S BAY


  39. A. Under a tree shade, Peter spreads out his beach mat.


  40. B. Peter swims around the swimming area before climbing up onto the round floating platform to rest.


  41. C. Later, we see Peter having screen time under the shade.


  42. D. Then, we see Peter swimming around the swimming area again.

  44. EXT. ROADS TO TSIMSHATSUI - 16:00


  45. Sitting in a route 973 bus, Peter checks an airline app.


  46. PETER (V.O.): OMG, the airline has raised the price for flights to Okinawa!


  47. MONTAGE OF PETER'S OTHER ACTIVITIES

  48. A. Restaurant. 17:00. Peter consumes a bowl of roast goose noodles and a cup of Ovaltine quickly.


  49. B. Collection centre. 17:30. Peter deposits with the STAFF the adaptor.


  50. C. Bus stop.18:30. Peter alights with OTHERS - many look like office workers.

  53. INT. STUDY - 22:00


  54. Typing natural language in his smartphone, Peter instructs his 文心一言 assistant.


  55. PETER (V.O.): See if she can visualize "Swimming Through Retirement" comically and draw something that resonates with me.


  56. After many attempts by the model, Peter sees a pleasing AI drawing.


  57. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Retirement can be an opportunity to navigate through life with grace and agility. I've just reserved my flights to Fukuoka.

  59. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Doing casual work in retirement makes this phrase of my life fluid, enabling me to explore different paths and getting new experiences.
