FADE IN
Act 1
INT. BEDROOM - 18:00
Watching a YouTube clip and holding an electric guitar, PETER plays solo.
PETER (V.O.): Ha, I've picked up something from the guitar man in the video.
.
Playing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've been playing guitar in my way and haven't considered playing it differently.
Picking up an electric bass guitar and turning on the rhythm of a mini bass guitar amplifier, Peter is improvising.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've written and recorded dozens of songs. As a one-man band, I haven't written any bass lines for my songs.
Humming a melody, Peter begins to play the bass.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Sounds good!
Finishing, PETER taps on his smart phone screen and we hear stereo music from two mobile taupe speakers.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I like my ears to hear sounds coming from different directions.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
INT. STUDIO - DAY (2021)
Peter stares at two small silver speakers on the wall.
PETER (V.O.): I haven't heard much stereo music from the old hifi system.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I was with the Government, I was just too busy.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Then, the CD/DVD player became out of order. And the unit's FM reception wasn't good.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): For the sentimental reasons, I tried to fix them without success.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The same for a repairer at Ap Liu Street.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Then, I discovered Sony's SRS-43 Bluetooth Extra-Bass Party Speakers and bought a pair.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As they're heavy, I put them in my NT home.
Underneath the wall speakers, we see a pair of speakers. As Peter turns them on, we hear powerful sounds and see party lights flashing in syn with the beat.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): They're the smaller and lighter SRS-33 Bluetooth Extra-Bass Speakers.
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, I like to try new things.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Early this year, I learned that there was a new series of SRS-13 Bluetooth Extra-Bass Speakers.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The series has six colours - black, coral pink, lemon yellow, light blue, power blue and taupe.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): While the black ones are available, the other colours weren't.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And so, I began collecting them piece by piece over a couple of weeks until I got five pairs.
Peter takes a photo of a pair of mobile taupe speakers.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): They're small, inexpensive and no maintenance.
Smiling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Days ago when my wife saw all my 10 SRS-13 XB Speakers, she was shocked.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In the 1960s, I longed to have a hi-fi system. It was only when I began full-time working in 1974 that I bought my first cheap set in Temple Street.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Anyhow, I'm hoarding again.
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - 23:00
We hear stereo oldies from the taupe speakers.
PETER (V.O.): Staying home reluctantly, I'm doing the same old things, differently.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't like monotone. I like stereo - the spatial effect to the sound.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I love the bass. They make the music full and make me feel high.
