PETER makes a call.
PETER (to phone): I'm subject to quarantine. I could only pay my chambers' rent early next week.
SOMEONE (from phone): No worry.
Later. Peter plays the piano. We hear sounds of a beginner.
PETER (V.O.): I wouldn't practise here if I can return to my studio.
While his WIFE is working from home, Peter is having screen time.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Quorans like to request my answers, from art and philosophy to management and leadership.
Having inserted an image, Peter types an answer. Repeats.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Doing the knowledge transfer, I learn something and I care less about the stock market.
Act 2
INT. BEDROOM - 12:30
Peter is joining a Webinar on cryptocurrencies.
PETER (V.O.): I like to try new things. In 2011, I championed international IP trading.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I missed the chance to buy any bitcoins when they're sold at US$1 in 2011.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A fortnight ago, I've ordered two NFTs. There may not be a second chance.
INT. DINING ROOM - 13:45
Peter & his wife are having sliced meat noodles in soup.
PETER: Do we have sufficient food in the fridge?
WIFE: We haven't consumed any canned food yet.
PETER: Oh yes, now, we've the chance.
PETER (Cont'd): I don't know if it should be alright for me to attend the flag raising ceremony at HKUST tomorrow.
WIFE: You had better go next time.
Peter nods.
INT. BEDROOM - 15:30
Having typed and sent an email, Peter sees a notification.
PETER (V.O.): A bank's stock price today is even lower than its price 30 years ago?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A friend of mine is one of the senior executives. And years ago, I visited the bank's nice museum in Shanghai.
Peter checks the time.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): While another bank's commission-free trading privilege to me ends today, I've no plan to buy further stocks.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Sometimes, the chance is now or never.
Logging on an online stock trading account, Peter does the order. Soon, he sees a message: Your order has been executed.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I take the chance that I may lose more.
INT. SITTING ROOM - 16:00
Peter puts a flute on the piano seat.
PETER (V.O.): I must take a nice photo documenting the moments during home confinement.
Having found an angle, Peter captures an image.
INT. BEDROOM - 16:15
Closing the door, Peter begins to practise flute playing. We hear unclean sounds.
PETER (V.O.): Years ago, I could play a bit "The Butterfly Lovers". And now...
On his iPad Mini, Peter taps YouTube, we see a video clip on flute playing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me try again.
After watching the clip and playing, Peter searches YouTube again.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Is that all - no more free and good on-line lessons?
Act 3
INT. SITTING ROOM - 22:45
Peter and his wife are watching TV oldies.
PETER (V.O.): Today, I've done what I wanted to do.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Having been confined at home since last Sat, I've packaged my days to find the good in what I currently have.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I yearn for the weekend ahead and the chance to be better.
