PETER (V.O.): It's looks fine.
Peter clicks the "Publish" icon, selecting "Share draft"
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I do that via Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter...
When the "Preview" page appears, Peter sees the social accounts are all listed at the bottom bar. He is delighted.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Finally, the connection with LinkedIn is back!
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): It was abruptly disconnected without notice.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): And there's no way I can fix it.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
INT. HKC&E CENTRE - 08:45 (Dec 7, 2023)
BIP Asia Forum. Walking past exhibition booths, Peter sees a FRIEND manning one.
PETER (V.O.): I haven't seen her for years.
Peter goes to engage her warmly.
PETER: Hi there! What brings you here?
FRIEND: It's you Peter. I haven't outreached clients in person for three years...
PETER: Every other thing is fine?
FRIEND: Yes!...You've recently published lots of animated drawings on LinkedIn...
PETER (V.O.): Oh, I've forgotten we're connected via LinkedIn...
FRIEND (Cont'd): Why don't you paste the content of your stories directly...I know you've attached the links...
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): That's more user-friendly but more work for me.
His Friend then passes a bottle of water to Peter.
FRIEND: A gift on behalf of my client.
PETER: You help promote the brand...
PETER (V.O.): Without the brand, customers can't link it with the business undertaking.
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I subscribe to the website holder because it provides user-friendly connections - I can publish my works via social media via one click.
FLASHBACK
INT. STUDY - NIGHT (3 Days ago)
Working on a laptop, Peter checks the "Preview" page and sees Facebook and Twitter connections.
PETER (V.O.): Why my LinkedIn connection has been disconnected? I haven't changed or deleted the connection.
Tapping "Manage Account", Peter attempts to "Connect" with LinkedIn again.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Unresponsive!
INT. STUDY - NIGHT (14 Jan 2024)
Peter repeats what he did the nights before.
PETER (V.O.): Isn't it insane to do the same thing again but expect a different result?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Could it because the website holder wants to sever its business tie with LinkedIn?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Or could it simply because the website holder isn't aware of the missing link?
Surfing the website holder's web with his mobile, Peter taps "Support" and studies the icons.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): There isn't a "Contact us" icon - another missing link.
Mining a "Report Abuse" icon, Peter selects "General Abuse", types in the missing-link problem, sends it and sees a bot's prompt reply: Before you fill in... you've to...
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): This is only the link I may get connected with those who may be concerned! I won't reason with any bot as it has no common sense!
END FLASHBACK
Act 3
INT. STUDY - 21:30
Working on a laptop, Peter inserts an AI drawing entitled "The Missing Link..." into a draft.
PETER (V.O): The technical issue impacts on my ability to share my blog post to anyone effectively.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): More importantly, the missing link can disconnect or minimize my presence in cyberspace.
Pondering.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Was the problem fixed by a bot or by a human? And if I didn't intervene or become missing in cyberspace, would anyone miss me?
