PETER (V.O.): Hello August.
Peter reads two notes on screen.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd):It's my turn to apply for an elderly travel card; and I've a Zoom meeting at 16:00.
Peter checks the Quora App.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I haven't done justice to my Quora fans for the past few days.
Peter reads and types on his smart phone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I attended a 3-day Zoom conference, and yesterday I watched many TV episodes of "The Good Doctor".
Reading and typing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I just don't like working on Sundays.
Act 2
INT. CHA CHAAN TENG - 14:30
Quiet. Peter is enjoying his Char Kway Teow and Ovaltine.
PETER (V.O.): Feel like having something hot even in a hot day.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This morning, I nearly applied for a wrong travel card. I learned later that the card I should apply was called the YouJoy card.
Smiling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm also happy that my wife and I will be travelling again this Nov.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): To witness our younger daughter's graduation ceremony isn't a good reason, but to help her bring back her stuff stored in UK is.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I was returning from UK to Hong Kong in Sept 1987, I spent a lot to ship my stuff back.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In the first half of August 1987, I was still living in Den Haag, completing the summer course at the Hague Academy of International Law.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In the latter half of Aug 1987, I first took a ferry from the Hook of Holland to Harwich. then a train back to London.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I had two days left to prepare for the LLM degree exams. I couldn't imagine what life would be like if I failed.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I did enjoy my summer holidays of 1987, initially in Strasbourg at the International Institute of Human Rights.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And I won't forget my motoring experience in continental Europe, using Strasbourg and Den Haag as my hubs.
Finishing his food and drink.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I hope my little help can help it sustain its business.
INT. STUDY - 15:50
Joining a Zoom meeting, Peter chats with a GENTLEMAN on screen.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, the architect chair has just had a tour in Canada despite the need to undergo quarantine upon his return.
Other characters begin to appear on screen.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Before taking up law, I was in housing management, and then in land administration. And now, I'm being involved in campus development of HKUST.
After some interactions on screen, Peter begins to look at the clock.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's already late in the afternoon, but I haven't done any professional work yet.
As soon as the meeting ends, Peter grabs his laptop and works on it.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): After working on a case as the Panel Chair last Nov, this is my first case this year.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And now, it's already August.
Act 3
INT. STUDY - 18:30
Having saved a document, Peter puts his laptop aside.
PETER (V.O.): Well, I'm happy that I've come up with a first rough draft of my domain name decision.
Pausing.
I'PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm having the Sunday mood even on the first Monday in August.
Peter checks the MyObservatory App on his smart phone.
'PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As tomorrow will still be sunny and hot, I must go swimming in the sea.
Pondering.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Doesn't August like the Sunday of Summer?
