Gold Coast. PETER stops his silver Eunos 30X before a pedestrian crossing.
PETER (V.O.): I'll arrive the Golden Beach soon.
Peter sees a crossing PEDESTRIAN observing his old coupe.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Does he know that under the bonnet of this 1800cc coupe, there's a V-6 engine?
Having had a 180 ° perspective of Peter's old coupe, the pedestrian gestures a thumbs-up to Peter.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): What a pleasant surprise!
Peter nods to show his appreciation.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): For many years now, I haven't seen another Eunos 30X on the roads of Hong Kong.
Peter steps on the accelerator.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The cars I drive say a lot about me.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
INT. FOYER, BUSINESS SCHOOL, HKUST - DAY (10 DAYS AGO)
Peter sees a lady COLLEAGUE carrying a designer's handbag.
PETER: Your handbag is classy and stylish!
COLLEAGUE (Smiling widely): Is that right?
The colleague is quick to let Peter have a 360° view of her yellow handbag.
PETER: Beautiful!
COLLEAGUE: Bags are to women as cars are to men.
PETER: Yes. Cars are high maintenance though.
COLLEAGUE: Do you change your cars from time to time?
PETER: No, I won't desert what I love. And so my cars are very old ones.
END FLASHBACK
INT. MUM'S HOME, HUNG SHUI KIU - 13:00
Bathroom. Two TRADEMEN are fixing the basin, the toilet and the bath. Peter's BROTHER is overseeing.
PETER (V.O.): My siblings have organized it. I want to give support.
While his MUM is talking to him endlessly, the dirty main door has Peter's attention.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can't bear to see the dirty marks near the door handle.
Peter begins to clean the main door as his MUM watches.
MUM: Oh, the dirty marks are gone now.
PETER (V.O.): Since my Dad passed away 11 years ago, she's been living alone.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My late Dad used to take care of household chores, especially after his retirement.
Peter takes a look of the kitchen.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's very dirty. A clean kitchen is the first step of having a completely clean home.
Clearing the junk from counters, Peter cleans appliances one by one.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): We're just too busy to act domestic helpers for our Mum.
Later, we hear Peter's brother remarking jokingly to their Mum: Your husband is summoning your elder son to clean the kitchen for you.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My late Dad's calling? Maybe my brother is right!
INT. PETER'S NT HOME - 18:00
Resting on a sofa and listening to oldies, Peter checks WhatsApp messages.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, my brother has taken a shot of the clean kitchen and shares the image in our family's chat group.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It was over three hours of dish-washing work.
Peter sees on screen many thumbs-up signs.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But organizing and cleaning isn't a project. It should be a practice.
Peter sighs.
Act 3
EXT. TUEN MUN HIGHWAY - 20:00
Peter is driving a red Nissan SX200.
PETER (V.O.): Today, I got many thumbs-ups.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.): Even if no one gives me any thumbs-up, I can feel that, overall, life's good.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Think positive and be my own hero - thumbs-up!
