FADE IN
Act 1
INT. STUDY/STUDIO - 10:30
Sitting at the Clavinova, PETER's fingers hit the keys, practising scale shifting.
PETER (V.O.): This 1989 Yamaha Clavinova is doing well.
Playing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Most of the keys are still sensitive.
Playing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Unlike an acoustic piano, the Clavinova is always in tune.
Playing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): While using voicings is easy, I still don't know how to use its other non-acoustic functions.
Peter chuckles.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
INT. DINING ROOM - 09:00 (Earlier today)
As he finishes breakfast with Kaji, the family pet, the family MAID approaches Peter.
MAID (Curiously): Sir, has your wife retired?
PETER: Yes, there's no need to wake her up.
PETER (V.O.): My wife retired in Jan this year. Now is March.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): For a greater part of Feb, my wife returned to office as if she was still working.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): It's only last Friday that she finished all the farewell meals hosted for her.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Yesterday, she told our daughter-in-law's family that she had adapted well with her retirement.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): She's referring to her very flexible waking time.
RETURN TO PRESENT
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Since she stopped returning to the office, I've tried to keep my wife company, but I felt like wasting the mornings.
INT. BEDROOM - 14:15
Sitting by the bed, Peter sees his WIFE waking up.
PETER: I'm going to have an afternoon tea set. Should I buy one for you?
WIFE: No need, just tell the maid to make breakfast for me.
EXT. ESTATE STREET - 15:00
Rainy. From a mall, Peter walks towards a residential block.
PETER (V.O): It's a cold day. Yesterday, I invited my wife to join me to go back to our home in NT to declutter the place.
INT. SITTING ROOM - 15:15
Returning, Peter suggests to his wife.
PETER: Should we postpone our trip to another day?
WIFE: I've already dressed up, waiting for your return.
PETER: Let's go then!
PETER (V.O): In our 8-seater Previa, there're boxes of personal items from her former office.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I did the same when I first retired nearly 10 years ago. I stored them in my NT home.
INT. PETER'S NT HOME - 16:30
Peter and his wife scan the cluttered rooms and staircases.
WIFE: You've done so little for so long.
PETER: Sorting through them, I reminisce about the past and can't decide what to keep and what to discard.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.): The passage of time lends me a hand now.
Act 3
INT. STUDY/STUDIO - 23:00
Peter inserts an AI drawing entitled "Time and Tidings..." to a text.
PETER (V.O): Time and tidings encompass past events, knowledge and wisdom that bring insight, guidance and perspectives in the present.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Time flies, but I should be the pilot. Making good use of time, I live a fulfilling life.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): For common prosperity, I play my due role, attempting to bring some good tidings to all.
