FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. STUDY - 09:00
PETER is reading a text on screen. We see: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8.
PETER (V.O.): I can't believe I'd read a Biblical text...
We see: A time to be born, and a time to die...
A time to weep and a time to laugh...
A time to gain and a time to lose...
A time of war and a time to peace...
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A moment ago, I was listening to the song "Turn, Turn, Turn". I'm interested to know how the author composed the lyrics.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Then I read that a great portion of the lyrics was copied from the Bible.
Peter compares the text with the lyrics.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The folk-rock song was a No. 1 hit in 1965.
Act 2
INT. HIGHWAY - 13:00
Driving a red coupe, Peter is listening to oldies: We hear: ...It's time of the season for loving...
PETER (V.O.): Yes, I love life. There's so much to experience.
Peter looks at the blue sky.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's smiling at me.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Today, the stock market has fallen sharply again.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I haven't invested in stocks until some six months ago. The events and circumstances now haven't happened for the past 5-6 years.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Except for some risk analysis and control, there's nothing I can do.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A time to gain experience and a time to lose money.
EXT. LAKE - 14:15
Smartphone in hand, Peter is capturing some lakeside objects.
PETER (V.O.): Today is 3.11. The Great Eastern Japan Earthquake and Tsunami happened 11 years ago.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): There're many victims. Their surviving loved ones might weep today.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I was touring Tofino in Oct 2019, my Canadian friend told me that the tsunami debris from Japan were later washed up to Canadian beaches.
Sighing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When my family visited Matsushima in Dec 2019, we saw a tsunami water level marking just below the G/F ceiling of a restaurant.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And now, an armed conflict is taking place in Eastern Europe.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When my wife and I visited Eastern Europe in 2017, we saw traces of the Yugoslav Wars (from 1991- 2001) here and there.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, yes, the lyricist added just six words after "a time for peace" ie "I swear it's not too late".
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But since the 1990s, many have warned and predicted that continuous NATO expansion would lead to war.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But those wise counsel have been ignored, as recent as just weeks ago.
Sighing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In Hong Kong, China, we feel the impact of virus attack from the microcosmos.
Sighing again.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): To everything, is there actually a season to turn, turn, turn?
Act 3
INT. STUDY - 23:00
Peter is thinking in bed.
PETER (V.O.): Nothing is static. Everything will change.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O)(Cont'd): Life is everything. Without life, there's nothing. I don't believe in eternal life.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): But life without peace can be nasty, brutish and short.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O)(Cont'd): To everybody, it's high-time for peace and a due-season of loving!
