PETER is dressing a suit.
PETER (V.O): Since my retirement from civil service, I haven't made any new suit.
Peter puts on a tie.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Going to HKUST events, I usually don't wear a tie, but today is HKUST's Unicorn Day 2024.
Peter checks his look in a mirror.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): As Chair of HKUST's Knowledge Transfer Committee, I exercise leadership to capitalize HKUST's research results.
Peter picks up a car key.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Incubating research teams and nurturing students' innovation and entrepreneurship, HKUST and partners would fund them.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): A few of them, including DJI, did become unicorns. My goal is to enhance the ecosystem so that there'll be more.
Act 2
INT. SHAW AUDITORIUM, HKUST - 9:15
A very crowded reception. Peter sees TIM, a staff member, approaching him.

TIM: Let me help you with a HKUST pin.
Tim pins a HKUST logo onto Peter's lapel.
PETER (V.O): Tim was my former student decades ago. He moved on to get his PhD and now a director of HKUST.
PETER: Tim, you're always nice to me.
After exchanging smiles with Tim, Peter enters the auditorium and sees some VIPs.
STAFF: Let me introduce you to Cindy from Alibaba.
PETER: Hi Cindy...I've been a shareholder...
CINDY: Treat it as a long-term investment...
Then, Peter spots IVAN.
PETER: Hi Ivan! Do you recall you took me for a spin in your convertible in Geneva?
IVAN: Of course!
PETER: Done in wintertime, it was unforgettable!
They laugh.
PETER (V.O): Iven is now the Commissioner for Innovation and Technology.
Taking his seat on the same row as Ivan, Peter gets a name card from WENDY sitting on his left.
PETER: You're a legislator... I was formerly the Director of Intellectual Property...
WENDY: I'm interested in promoting IP financing...
PETER: IP financing can be resolved if Hong Kong has a IP Exchange...
Then, Peter gets a name card from DENNIS sitting on his right.
PETER: You're a legislator...a swimming coach...
DENNIS: Yes!
PETER: How to swim butterfly style well?
They chat until the MC on stage speaks. And after listening to speeches, all the VIPs including Peter go up to the stage for a photo session.
INT. CONFERENCE LODGE, HKUST - 13:15
Lunch at table 1. Peter chats with young HKUST ENTREPRENEURS on his right.
PETER (to one): As your technology is likely to be copied, you had better use trademarks, including sound and smell marks, to protect your robotic products.
And then ANDREW, the HKUST Court Chair, introduces Peter to CHRISTOPHE, a capitalist. We hear them talking about IP trading.
PETER (V.O): It's great Christophe is interested in the concept.
Returning to his seat, Peter chats with a young UNDERSECRETARY sitting on his left.
PETER (V.O): She's half my age. She wasn't born when I began creating public value...
EXT. SHAW AUDITORIUM - 17:00
Still crowded. Peter and ANNIE are chatting.
PETER: When we first met at the Hong Kong Science & Technology Park in 2015, I was hoping to continue championing IP trading.
ANNE: And now is 2024...
Act 3
INT. LIVING ROOM - 22:15
Peter inserts an AI drawing entitled "Unicorn Connections" to a draft.
PETER (V.O): The HKUST Unicorn Day 2024 focuses on HKUST's thriving start-up and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I'm trying again to bridge connections among Government, capitalists, HKUST and entrepreneurs.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Leveraging my expertise and network to foster collaboration, I'm still contributing to turn Hong Kong into an international IP trading hub.
