Up, Up And Away!

  1. FADE IN

  2. Act 1

  3. INT. BEDROOM - 00:30

  4. Opening a letter, PETER sees two insurance policies.

  5. PETER (V.O.):One is mine. The other one belongs to somebody else.

  6. Taking an image of a policy with his smart phone, Peter attaches it to a WhatsApp message.

  7. Pausing.

  8. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My insurance agent might have been looking for it for days.

  9. Recalling.

  10. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Since 1978, she has been taking good care of my cars' insurance. I seek her advice whenever necessary.

  11. Pausing.

  12. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): She's a very capable person. And this is the first time...

  13. Seeing no reply on screen, Peter goes to bed.

  14. Act 2

  15. EXT. ESTATE STREET - 09:00

  16. Standing near a cyber-green New Beetle, Peter reads a WhatsApp message on screen:...Oh dear! I may soon be suffering from Alzheimer's disease!

  17. PETER (V.O.): No worry, I'll post that insurance policy back to you.

  18. Later, having posted a letter, Peter looks up at the blue sky.

  19. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me go swimming and then to the management office of my NT home to renew my car entry labels.

  20. INT. STUDY - 10:00

  21. Having studied some particulars in Yahoo!Finance, Peter taps a bank app and does some "Sell" orders.

  22. PETER (V.O.): My second time doing that. I don't know if they'd be executed. In fact, I've little assets to sell.

  23. Then, Peter begins to find something.

  24. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Where's my cyber-green safety buoy?

  25. MONTAGE OF PETER'S MEMORIES

  26. A. A fortnight ago. Having swum in Golden Beach Bay, Peter drives his red coupe and parks it in his NT home.

  27. B. A week ago. Inside a public changing room in Silverstrand Beach, Peter is changing.

  28. C. Later, at the Silverstrand car park, Peter puts his swimming gear inside his silver coupe.

  29. END MONTAGE

  30. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Have I left it in my silver coupe, or in the public changing room or in my red coupe?

  31. Later, Peter takes out some papers from a transparent plastic bag.

  32. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): To renew my car entry labels, the management office wants to see my designated cars' registration certificates.

  33. INT. UNDERGROUND CAR PARK - 12:45

  34. Peter checks the inside of his silver coupe.

  35. PETER (V.O.): My safety buoy isn't there.

  36. EXT/INT. MANAGEMENT OFFICE - 14:30

  37. Walking along a lakeside path, Peter captures a photo of a round-shaped building.

  38. PETER (V.O.): In 1983, I had many nice lunches there. Later, it became the management office. I envy those working there.

  39. Reception. As Peter is about to show the certificates to a STAFF, he hesitates.

  40. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): OMG, I've actually brought the certificates of cars that I don't drive to NT!

  41. PETER: I'll come again another day.

  42. EXT/INT. PETER'S NT HOME - 15:30

  43. Going to the end of the drive way, Peter checks his red coupe parked there.

  44. PETER (V.O.): My safety buoy isn't there either. Should I call the Silverstrand Beach office?

  45. Pausing.

  46. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Before I do that, let me check my urban home again.

  47. Later, sitting in a sofa, Peter checks the Yahoo!Finance on his phone screen.

  48. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, I've lost lots of money on paper today...

  49. Recalling.

  50. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My late Dad liked to remark that such paper gains/losses aren't real...Yes, I love my Dad.

  51. Act 3

  52. INT. BEDROOM - 20:00

  53. Peter works on his laptop.

  54. PETER (V.O.): I've found out that my "Sell" orders were executed earlier in the day. The cash should relieve a bit the stress of my tax liabilities.

  55. Pausing.

  56. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Just then, I've also found my safety buoy inside a bag that I seldom use... I actually attach a lot of sentimental value to it.

  57. Smiling.

  58. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Stay positive, good things will happen. What a happy Wednesday!

  59. From the radio, we hear a happy tune :..Up, up and away!...We'll search the clouds for a star to guide us...

  60. THE END

  61. FADE OUT
