PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No, I'm not going back to my chambers yet, I'm attending a HKUST meeting on campus development.
Taking the stairs to the ground level, Peter walks towards the Chater Garden.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The places I work in retirement are much more interesting than Government offices where I worked for decades.
Arriving at the Chater Garden, Peter captures an image featuring the Hong Kong Club building.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): At the lift lobby up there, I can see a bit of the park view. At the Business School foyer, there's the 180-degree harbour view.

Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): What I learned served just the functional purpose and not any aesthetic ends.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Through their presentations, I'm learning the art and technique of designing and building.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): What I can contribute is from the hypothetic user's perspective.
FLASHBACK
EXT/INT. INNOVATION TOWER, HKPOLY U - DAY (MAY, 2014)
Peter (59) walks towards the tower.
PETER (V.O.): Its modernist look is distinctly different from other red-brick buildings.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I was studying Land Administration here from 1980-1982, I could get lost here as buildings looked the same.
Entering the tower, Peter takes the stairs to go up to a lecture theatre.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Its interior design is so simple. And it's good enough for me to conduct my moot auction of trade marks here.

Arriving in car with his WIFE, Peter (60) looks excited.
PETER: Well, I'm going to swim in a venue that hosted the swimming events of the 2012 Summer Olympics!

PETER (V.O.): What an Olympic-like experience!
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I never thought of becoming an architect. I wasn't that artistic.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In 1975 at my family home in Tin Sum San Tsuen, I deconstructed a toilet and a pigsty, and built a toilet with a sump tank and a two-room structure.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): By default, the design was minimalistic and the buildings were simple.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd):I believe they're still functional.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The neighbourhood is calm, peaceful and untroubled
Peter stares at construction works nearby.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Architecture are visual arts and they communicate by themselves.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And whatever good stuff we design and build end up building our authentic selves.
