FADE IN
Act 1
INT. STUDY - 08:45
In a corner, PETER discovers a beach mat.
PETER (V.O.): I bought it over 10 years ago and haven't used it.
Eyes sparkling.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I plan to go to Shek O today. I may use it if I can find a parking lot.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I go swimming nearly every day. Having swum, I'd leave right away.
Peter takes a look of his tanned arms.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I've enough sunbathing. And fiction isn't my cup of tea.
Carrying the beach mat and his swimming bag, Peter exits.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): But I'm excited about how I may relax and enjoy my time with a beach mat.
Act 2
EXT. ROADS TO SHEK O - 10:15
Long and winding. In a green Beetle, Peter drives past crumpled slopes and scattered soil.
PETER (V.O.): I can still feel the destructive force of recent typhoons.
EXT. SHEK O - 10:30
Car park. Arriving, Peter finds vacant lots.
PETER (V.O.): Is the beach closed ?
Having parked the car, Peter walks towards the beach.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Access isn't blocked...
Beach. Sound of crashing waves. Red flag. No one is swimming.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Oh!
Selecting a tree shade, Peter spreads the beach mat on the sand and deposits his bags.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): But today I can wait until the waters become calm.
Taking out one of his smartphones, Peter tunes into an internet radio station. We hear oldies.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Serenity aside, I've added the nostalgic atmosphere.
Peter lies down on the beach mat.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I feel a deep connection with the present and the past.
Sunrays sneak through tree leaves. As Peter is about to use a cap to cover his face, he sees something high up in the sky.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): What's that?
We see vibrant colours of two parachutes. Two PEOPLE are parachuting in the blue sky.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I only had some carefree parasailing experience.
Peter takes videos clips of the sport with his smartphone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't think I can play such a sport.
Later, we hear a beach announcement:...the shark prevention net was damaged...don't enter into the water...
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Have any shark been trapped within the swimming area? I must go elsewhere to swim.
EXT. BIG WAVE BAY - 16:00
Arriving. Peter sees the beach red flag and a conspicuous "Don't Swim" notice.
PETER (V.O.): OMG, the water quality here is poor!
Frustrated, Peter still selects a spot to spread his beach mat.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But what's the point to repeat here briefly of what I've done for hours in Shek O?
Peter takes a look of the sun at low level.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I must embrace the situation and make the most of it.
Avoiding SURFERS, Peter enters into the waters. We see Peter being pushed back by big waves.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): They're really powerful.
Still, Peter positions himself near the shore, head above water, ready to let his back encounter the incoming waves.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): With each wave's arrival, my anticipation and awe build.
As the waves engulf his body, Peter moves in sync with them.
Act 3
INT. STUDY - 22:00
Typing natural language in his smartphone, Peter instructs his 文心一言 assistant.
PETER (V.O.): See if she can visualize "Waves of Life" impressionistically and draw something that resonates with me.
As an image of a beautiful woman appears, Peter types "use beach and waves as context". Then, we see an AI drawing that includes a small figure.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Life is a series of interconnected events and emotions. Like waves, human existence has ups and downs.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Swaying with the waves, I let the rhythm of sea water set my soul free.
