FADE IN
Act 1
INT. CONSULTATION ROOM - 15:00
As an ASSISTANT brings in a covered turtle box with a patient inside, PETER and his younger SON look anxious.
PETER: Has she got the painkiller injection already?
ASSISTANT: Yes, it lasts for 48 hours.
PETER: I'd bring her back before the effect is gone.
ASSISTANT: When do you want to come back?
PETER: Now is Wednesday afternoon. What's the latest hour we can come on Friday?
ASSISTATNT: Erh...half past 5...
PETER: 5 o'clock then.
Having picked up the turtle box with due care, Peter speaks lovingly to the box: We're going home.
Act 2
EXT. STREETS, TAI WAI - CONTINUOUS
Raining. Peter's son holds an umbrella to shelter Peter, as Peter shelters the turtle box, from the rain.
PETER (V.O.): We've done the right thing to bring Nana to a specialist vet without delay.
Peter stares at a plastic glove that wrapped up the bottom part of Nana's body.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's meant to keep the area clean and prevent Nana from causing any tissue damage with its back claws.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But Nana doesn't move any of her claws now.
Worrying.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Is her recovery from anesthesia so slow? Or is she...
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Nana was away from home for the first time.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And for the first time, Nana didn't have the support of her partner.
c
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Moreover, she had to engage a couple of strangers, the X-ray and the Ultrasound procedures.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): She got many injections, from morphine to Vitamins A-E.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Only she'd bite my fingers. She has never been bitten...
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Although the strangers are trying to help her, Nana may not know.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): We've also made a decision on her that she wouldn't know.
FLASHBACK
INT. CONSULTATION ROOM - 14:20 (EARLIER)
Printed data on the table, a VET explains them to Peter and his son.
VET: The vitals are well below average.
PETER: It's due to our improper husbandry.
Using computer screen images, the Vet demonstrates Nana's problem. We see an egg-like shape inside shell layers.
VET: This big egg has caused Nana's prolapse ie her uterus has protruded from her rear opening.
PETER: OMG, the egg is about one-fifth of her size. How can she lay it?
VET: I've already pushed Nana's prolapse back in. But Nana's instinct treats it as the egg.
PETER: Oh dear!
VET: There're two options. One is a high-risk major surgery and Nana may not survive it. The other is euthanasia.
SON: I want to bring Nana home first before we take the next step.
Peter nods many times.
END FLASHBACK
Act 3
INT. HOME - 21:00
Observing Nana inside her box, Peter touches her hands gently.
PETER (V.O.): It isn't how big the home is. It's how warm the home is.
Peter then taps Nana's head gently.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Home is the place to find care and comfort. If one doesn't find them at home, one doesn't find them anywhere.
Peter massages Nana's shoulders gently.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Home is a collection of what one loves.
