Act 1
INT. STUDY - 15:00
Checking a Quora notification on screen, PETER sees an answer request: How do you consider your work as art?
PETER (V.O.): I've entertained over two dozens requests today. This is the third question on art.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In the copyright sense, protectable artistic works don't need to have any artistic quality.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Artistic quality may mean the expression of the artist's existential experience.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Whether an artist can always communicate more than the work's surface value is moot.
Pausing.
IPETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm interested in aesthetics. But in terms of artistic work creation, my copyright sense boosts my confidence.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
INT. BEDROOM - 10:00 (EARLIER)
Smart phone in hand, Peter is checking answer requests on Quora.
PETER (V.O.): Today is Saturday. Let me entertain my Quora fans fully.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): "How to use paper bags creatively?" That's the question.
Tapping Google Photos on screen, Peter types "bags" on the search bar and sees images of bags appearing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've taken only a few photos on bags. But this one is interesting.
We see on screen a photo of three paper bags hanging on the wall with a staircase railing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This photo was taken in a Sendai restaurant when my family was motoring in Japan in Dec 2019.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The paper bags didn't seem out of place to me. I found it creative to use paper bags as art works.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Even if the restaurant is attacked by the tsunami again, I believe the artist is confident that it shouldn't ruin the paper bags.
Having posted his answer, Peter reads another one. We see: What's the best example of a nice thing you've done for an artist who is not related to you?
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): On Monday this week, I visited the "Leather Factory" in Peng Chau and saw junk arts. To help publicize one artwork with no name on Quora, I added the caption "Isn't Life Beautiful?"
Having posted his answer, Peter reads another one. We see: Do you consider the inclusion of AI in the arts a form of oppression towards artists?
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A form of oppression? Artech has become a problem for survival?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Many works imitate the appearance of things.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): For imitation artists, AI will replace them soon, as AI is capable of producing technically proficient works.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Am I right to think that there's no must in art and art should be free?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If so, no oppression, artistically speaking.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): For true artists, they can create better works than AI-generated ones.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): They should have the capacity to make others see the unseen.
Having posted his answer on Quora, Peter is in thoughts.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The expression of my artistic works are merely in the form of photos and video clips.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If I can paint at all, I want to paint my dreams.
END FLASHBACK
Act 3
INT. STUDY - CONTINUOUS
Peter refocuses on the unanswered request.
PETER (V.O.): I think art is not a thing. It's a courageous, creative way.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If there's any ultimate truth in the way, it's the understanding and recognizing of ourselves - humanity.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If any inner significance is expressed or manifested in any way - including a way of life, it's art.
Peter begins to type his answer on Quora.
