PETER (V.O.): I must go to Peng Chau prepared.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This morning, we got notice that block residents are subject to compulsory Covid-19 testing.
Peter finds a travel review of Peng Chau on screen.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And so, my wife, our maid and I went to a nearby mobile specimen collection center to discharge our obligations.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I thought about leaving my Peng Chau trip to another day.
Peter reads the travel review again.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): On second thoughts, I got to give myself the opportunity.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
EXT. LEATHER FACTORY, PENG CHAU WEST - 12:15
Seeing the colourful "Leather Factory" sign, Peter enters a narrow alley fully decorated with works of artistic craftsmanship.
PETER (V.O.): Wow, this is beyond my expectations.
Walking along a lane, Peter sees junk art exhibiting here and there.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Pretty familiar to me. Frog King Kwok did a lot of these in the early 1970s.
Excited and delighted, Peter captures images from different angles.
EXT. FINGER HILL, PENG CHAU SOUTH - 13:15
A "95M" sign by a pavilion. Peter is having soybean milk.
PETER (V.O.): Here's the highest point of the island. "Peng" means "flat"; "Chau", "Island". Having trained in Lamma Island, I can cope.
Later, walking down the steps, Peter sees a young WOMAN#1 climbing up.
WOMAN: How far up do I still have to climb?
PETER: You've done one-third... You'll soon arrive.
EXT. TUNG WAN, PENG CHAU EAST - 13:30
Seeing a large beach dotted with unused water sports gear, Peter looks disappointed.
PETER (V.O.): Swimming can be dangerous. No one is swimming here.
Looking seawards, we see the Hong Kong's skyline afar.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The review says that there're four other much smaller beaches along the Peng Yu Path. As they don't have any facilities, swimmers should go prepared.
EXT. PENG YU PATH, PENG CHAU NORTH - CONTINUOUS
Beach#1. Rocky. No one except Peter.
PETER (V.O.): Just going down the beach is dangerous. I give up.
Beach#2. Rocky. No swimmer.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I believe there're many rocks under water.
Beach#3, Rocky. Campers only.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Perhaps, I'll swim in my estate swimming pool tonight.
Beach#4. Peter sees two SWIMMERS and WOMAN#2 doing sunbathing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): At last! That's what I come here for!
In swimming outfit, Peter sees a sign: "Beware of oyster cut and jelly fish"
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The only way to prevent jelly fish sting is to swim just a little.
Having avoided oyster cuts and swum a little, Peter leaves.
EXT. PENG CHAU WEST - 16:00
Wing On Street. Peter walks past small shops and eating stores.
PETER (V.O.): Monday is quite a rest day here. I meant to have an afternoon tea set.
At street end, Peter sees a store selling desserts.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): That's a perfect substitute!
Having consumed to his heart's content, Peter leaves.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I still have to bear the salt on my body on my long way home.
Act 3
EXT. FERRY TRIP, PENG CHAU TO CENTRAL - 17:00
Sitting comfortably at the rear open area, Peter captures photos of landscapes.
PETER (V.O.): Before boarding, I bumped into a public toilet with bathing facilities.
Peter captures photos of ocean-going containers.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): What's luck? Is it a non-reliable hope? Does it depend on my willingness to act?
Peter captures photos of western and central districts.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If so, have I made my own today? But I do need the external support. Is luck just a belief that I'm lucky?
