Act 1
INT. STUDY - 09:00
Eyes glued to his mobile screen, PETER taps a link: Could you land a Boeing 737-800?
PETER (V.O): This is precisely what I want to know.
We follow Peter to watch a host in a cockpit, explaining the controls and steps.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): To be able to communicate with the air trafffic control is crucial for safe landing.
Watching intensely.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Align the plane with the runway, adjusting altitude and speed.
Watching intensely.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Extend the flaps to increase lift and decrease speed. Lower the landing gear to prepare for touchdown.
Watching intensely
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Maintain a steady descent rate and touch down gently...
Act 2
EXT. MTR CABIN - 14:15
Crowded. Mobile in hand, Peter sees an image entitled: Understanding the Boeing Cockpit.
PETER (V.O): That is exactly what I want to understand.
On screen, we see a detailed view of an aircraft cockpit, showcasing various controls and displays.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The upper panel contains controls for flight systems such as Flight Control Surface, Electrical and Hydraulic Controls, Air Conditioning Controls...
Studying.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The central display includes Head-Up Display, Navigation Display and Primary Flight Display...
Studying.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The lower panel contains controls and displays of various systems and instruments, including the Mode Control Panel, Engine and Fuel Controls, EICAS (Engine Indication and Crew Alert System)...
Recalling.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): If I'm to land a plane automatically, I need to use the Mode Control Panel...
Recalling.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): And I need to lower the landing gear by turning the control or switch which is located between the pilot and co-pilot seats to the "Down" position.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Let me also send this link to my family chatgroup. Our younger son is learning flying in Australia and has flown solo three times already.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): My wife had an air traffic control background. She has revived her dream to fly too.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I only had my first air travel at the age of 26 - when I could afford that. Since then, I've had countless air travels.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I dreamt of flying machines like those featuring in the movie: Those Magnificient Men in Their Flying Machines.
INT. LIVING ROOM - 20:30
Peter is watching a TV documentary about eVTOL (electric Vertical Take Off & Landing).
PETER (V.O): When I was studying Air Law in UCL from 1986-1987, I learned about HTOV (Horizontal Take Off & Landing) ie heavier-than-air aircraft that use runways to take off and land.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): For VTOL, rotorcraft has the capacity of vertical take-off and/or vertical landing.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): When I was a Justice of the Peace from 1998-2014, I visited prisoners in outlying prisions via helecopters.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): My wife and I had a frightful helecopter ride while sightseeing the Great Canyon.
Smiling.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Soon after my retirement, I bought helecopter rides from Hong Kong to Macau and return for my elder daughter and younger son.
On screen, a passenger is having a solo eVTOL ride without a pilot in the Shenzhen low sky.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The ground control is flying the eVTOL or the air taxi-to-be.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Why can't flying a machine be as easy as driving a car?
Act 3
INT. STUDY - 21:30
Peter inserts an AI drawing entitled: "Wings of Change..." to a draft in his laptop.
PETER (V.O): While wings symbollize the ability to soar and explore new horizons, change suggests growth, new beginnings and transformation.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): My wife's interest in flying is spurred by our younger son's achievements - support can inspire one another.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): While technology and the future of travel are changing, our history continues to shape our present motivations and decisions.
