Lying on a sofa and listening to music, PETER checks FB notifications.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, friends living in US and Canada wished me Happy Birthday.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, they're a day behind Hong Kong time.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My son and his girlfriend fixed a dinner gathering the night before I turned 68.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Birthdays are annual. I had only one last working day with Government. That was May 14, 2014 - the day before I turned 60.
We hear from speakers Carpenters' singing "Yesterday Once More".
Act 2
FLASHBACK
INT. SITTING ROOM - YESTERDAY
Peter is watching: "The Beatles: Get Back: Episode 2."
PETER (V.O.): The original footage was shot in Jan 1969. All the Beatles members were below age 30.
On screen, we see the Abbey Road studio. A Mercedes arrives and Ringo gets off. Then, George gets off from another Mercedes. Later, John and Yoko get off from a Rolls.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Creativity is wealth.
On screen, we see Paul, George and John work out the solo parts of the song "Get Back".
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, Billy Preston, a non-Beatles member, plays the electric organ. In 1962, he met the little-known Beatles in Hamburg.
Later, we hear Paul remarking: Four is bad enough.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): George has just rejoined the band after leaving it briefly.
Later, we hear Paul remarking:...Hong Kong Flu...
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Ah, that's his impression on Hong Kong.
Later, while watching Beatles' less popular songs, Peter dozes off.
SEQUENCE OF PETER'S OTHER ACTIVITIES YESTERDAY
A. At home, Peter and his WIFE, accompanied by KAJI, are having dinner.
B. Behind the laptop screen of images, Peter blows out a birthday cake candle.
C. As the family continues to skype, Peter reads a thick book.
D. Facing the screen, Peter remarks to all: "I've to appear in court tomorrow".
END SEQUENCE
INT. BEDROOM - YESTERDAY NIGHT
Peter goes to bed.
PETER (V.O.): I hope I could fall asleep soon.
Hours later, Peter is still tossing and turning in bed.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can't feel myself shutting down.
EXT. MTR CABIN - EARIER TODAY
Peter's eyes are glued to his smart phone screen.
PETER (V.O.): I've just mined a Court of Final Appeal case on acts outraging public decency.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And the law on going equipped for stealing is quite complicated.
Peter is about to get off the train.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No preparation in ever enough.
SEQUENCE OF PETER'S OTHER ACTIVITIES TODAY
A. Unsecured interview room#1. Peter sees CLIENTS#1-4.
B. Secured interview room#2. Peter sees other CLIENTS#5-8.
C. Court. Peter submits to the bench. Client#1-2 are fined. Clients#3-4 have their bails extended. Clients#5-7 get bails. Clients#8 is remanded.
D. Restaurant. Pouring lard and soy sauce on his steaming hotpot rice with shrimps, Peter looks excited.
E. MTR cabin. In response to a Quora answer request "How would you explain your profession to someone who knows nothing about it?", Peter types: It's a job that's never done.

Act 3
INT. STUDY - CONTINUOUS
Checking "Yesterday Once More" (song) in Wikipedia, Peter reads the songwriters were Richard Carpenter and John Betts; the song was released on May 16, 1973.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Then, I was 19 years old and was about to finish my first matriculation exams.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd: Today, I had my first court appearance since age 68.
.Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Like tree branches, my family is growing; and I'm happy.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My life so far, everything is right on time.
